Would you like OOTW to help you find a home for a stray or abandoned pet(s). It’s simple. Just fill out the below online "Getting Help" application, acknowledge the below terms and the "Code of Conduct", then click "submit". Once received, OOTW will contact you to discuss your application and our "Getting Help" program. Please note that a home visit may be required.

* Getting Help agreement: I will allow OOTW to inspect the animal care area of my residence prior to and during the care of the pet(s). I understand that once the pet(s) is approved into the OOTW program that I will be responsible for the care of (foster) pet(s). I accept any risks and agree that OOTW assumes no liability for damages caused by pet(s) in my custody. I agree that should the pet(s) be returned from the adoptive home for any reason, that I will again foster the pet(s) until a permanent adoptive home can be found. I agree that in the event I am unable to take the pet(s) back into my residence for whatever reason I will pay and/or reimbuise OOTW any and all costs OOTW incurs while caring for the pet(s) until a permanent home can be found. I will be responsible for providing the following care and supplies for the pet(s): Proper food and water in bowls Training, socialization (e.g., holding cats and kittens, teaching them about scratching post, etc) and play time Adequate shelter (indoor only for cats and kittens) Administration of any prescribed medical care including flea/tick preventative and heartworm preventative I will be responsible for the safe transportation of pet(s). I understand that cats and kittens must be transported in carriers. I understand that the pet(s) in my care will receive all routine care at a veterinarian clinic of my choice, but that a discount is available at a veterinarian clinic approved by OOTW. This routine care includes vaccinations, fecal, heartworm test, microchip placement and a spay or neuter. Further care must be provided as recommended by the veterinarian if other medical conditions exist. I understand that an OOTW adoption application must be received and the adoptive home approved with assistance by an OOTW representative prior to allowing the pet to be transferred to an adoptive home. I understand that a signed OOTW adoption contract and an adoption fee in the amount of $100.00 for cats will be collected from the adoptive home at the time of transfer. I understand that if I have paid for the veterinarian services, when the pet(s) is adopted, the adoption contract has been signed and adoption fee has been paid to OOTW, that OOTW can refund the adoption donation to me within 60 days. I understand that if OOTW pays for the veterinarian services, OOTW keeps the adoption donation to offset these costs. I understand that if, for any reason, the pet(s) is not surrendered for adoption because of, but not limited to: I decided to keep the pet(s) I decided to give the pet(s) away The pet(s) died due to negligence, that I will be responsible for all expenses incurred by OOTW related to the pet(s) and will reimburse OOTW for same immediately upon request. I understand that by submitting this form that I and the pet(s) will be representing OOTW and I will be held accountable as such. I understand that cats and kittens should be brushed/combed and have their nails trimmed before events or adoptions. I agree I will deliver upon adoption any records in my possession relating to pet(s) to the adoptor. I certify that the "Getting Help" application information is correct to the best of my knowledge. I also agree to follow all the rules, regulations and policies of OOTW.

** Code of Ethics and Conduct Policy Out of the Woods Animal Rescue of Arkansas, hereby known as OOTW, has adopted the following policies regarding any and all OOTW representatives including but not limited to Volunteers, Independent Rescuers and Fosters, hereby known as representatives. These policies outline the Code of Ethics and Conduct for all persons volunteering their service to OOTW. It covers your behaviour as a representative of the OOTW community, in any forum, mailing list, public meeting, event or private correspondence. If you cannot agree to all parts of these policies, then volunteering for OOTW is not for you. Accepting or submitting for the role offered assumes acceptance of these policies: OOTW Code of Ethics PURPOSE To provide overall guidance and direction to anyone engaged or involved in the efforts and mission of OOTW. LIABILITY Representatives are expected to understand the risks associated with OOTW and hereby waive any claims against, indemnify, and hold harmless OOTW, its respective members, sponsors, representatives, fosters, independent rescuers and volunteers from any and all liability, including attorney fees that may result from illness, personal injury, property damage, or wrong doing resulting from involvement with the OOTW organization. POLICIES Representatives shall know, understand, and support OOTW’s mission, vision, core values, purpose and goals and become familiar with and follow OOTW policies, procedures, guidelines, and the Code of Ethics and Conduct while acting on behalf of OOTW. DISCRIMINATION OOTW is committed to a policy of fair representation and will not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, disability, gender, color, religion, sexual orientation, geography, or age. Representatives are expected to adhere to these same standards in the course of their duties. REPRESENTING OOTW Representatives are asked to NOT contact organizations or individuals on behalf of the OOTW unless the Board of Directors gives them express direction to do so. Representatives are authorized to act as specifically indicated within their job descriptions. CONFIDENTIALITY Representatives are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all proprietary or privileged information to which they are exposed while serving as an OOTW representatives, whether this information involves a single volunteer, client, other person, or OOTW business. Failure to maintain confidentiality may result in termination of the representative's relationship with OOTW. OWNERSHIP ISSUES Upon submission, donations made by or obtained by OOTW representatives on behalf of OOTW becomes the property of OOTW and any material produced by representatives for OOTW, including graphics materials, web page designs, narratives, research, etc., becomes the property of OOTW. Representatives may be recognized for their contributions as appropriate. CONTACTING OOTW representatives will not share contact or other personal information about OOTW representatives, donors or applicants without the express consent of all parties involved. SERVICE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE ORGANIZATION OOTW accepts the service of all representatives with the understanding that such service is at the sole discretion of the organization. Representatives agree that OOTW may at any time, for whatever reason, decide to terminate the representative relationship with the organization. ENDING YOUR REPRESENTATIVE ROLE If you choose to remove yourself from our list of active representatives, we would appreciate notification in person, by phone, or via e-mail OOTW Code of Conduct Representatives shall represent OOTW with professionalism, dignity and pride, and be responsible for being courteous, respectful, and with being a positive role model. Display respect and courtesy for other OOTW representatives, event participants, visitors, applicants and OOTW property. Representatives shall provide a safe environment by not harming anyone in any way, whether through discrimination, sexual harassment, physical force, verbal or mental abuse, neglect, or other harmful actions. Representatives shall follow through and complete accepted tasks. Be honest with regards to what you say and what you can realistically commit to. Representatives shall be available. Check your e-mails regularly and answer them promptly even if it's "I'll get back to you". Representatives shall kkeep OOTW informed of progress, concerns and problems within the program(s) in which the representatives participates. Representatives shall keep personal opinions and actions separate from those made as a representative of this organization. When making decisions concerning OOTW, you must do so based only on the best interests of OOTW. If you have a situation that might constitute or lead to a conflict of interest or might be perceived as a conflict of interest, notify the Board of Directors immediately Representatives shall ask for help, when unsure. Nobody knows everything and nobody is expected to be perfect. Asking questions avoids many problems down the road and so questions are encouraged. Those who are asked should be responsive and helpful. Representatives do NOT use vulgar or inappropriate language. Representatives do NOT solicit gratuities, gifts or bequests for personal or professional benefit. Representatives do NOT use or be under the influence of illegal drugs. Representatives do NOT abuse or be under the influence of alcohol or consume tobacco at OOTW events. Representatives avoid conduct, both on and off duty that would jeopardize the organizations effectiveness. Representatives are to respect and follow OOTW's policies, Code of Ethics and Conduct and program expectations.
